The Bonfires Of Beltane Now In A Boxed Set

The Bonfires Of Beltane Now In a Boxed Set

Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas is releasing my first book of historical fiction, The Bonfires Of Beltane, in a boxed set with two other books. The Bonfires of Beltane is set in ancient, Celtic Ireland. St. Patrick himself appears as a secondary character in the novel. (P.S. It’s also free through Tuesday, August 7.)

Coming Attractions . . .

In other news, your author has not been idle. The Medallion, the second in my series on ancient, Celtic Ireland, is wending its way through the publishing process. Final proofreading is complete. Next step—the cover. Estimated release date is December 3. I’ll be posting more info on the book later.

If you are interested in signing up to be an early reader of The Medallion, and you promise—cross your heart and all that—to post a review on Amazon during the first week after publication, send me a note on my contact page. But be aware that the early copy may have to be a pdf, not a print copy.

I’m also about 2/3 through the first draft of a third book of historical fiction. This one is set in Renaissance Italy in 1469 and will be titled Death Of The Master Builder. That’s enough of a tease for now.

I’ve also written an epic, high fantasy trilogy that will be coming out next year between March and September. The Scepter And Tower Series is set in a world based on ancient, Celtic Ireland with a Christian-based world view and theme. I’m also looking for early readers/reviewers for Quest For The Scepter, the first book in the series.

A Minneapolis Book Fair For Christian Authors

Christian Authors Get Together

What do Christian authors do with their spare time when they’re not writing? They walk their dogs, go out to eat, and sometimes, they even get together in one place and sell their books.

Last evening, the Christian authors of Minnesota got together and put their wares on display at the Oak Knoll Lutheran Church in Hopkins Crossroads. I attended. Represented were Christian authors from the Minnesota Christian Writer’s Guild and the American Christian Fiction Writers, Minnesota NICE chapter. The variety of subjects ranged from historical fiction, to romance, to biblical fiction, to devotionals, to the life of Billy Sunday, to self-help books, to writer’s books, to cancer survivor stories, to the politics of St. Paul, Minnesota, to World War II stories. Here are some pictures I took of the event….

Mark E. Fisher’s Next Historical Book — The Medallion

Mark E. Fisher’s Next Historical — The Medallion

Mark E. Fisher announces his next book of Christian historical fiction, The Medallion, due in December 2018.

This week, I’m happy to announce that I signed a contract with Lighthouse Publishing of the Carolinas, Heritage Beacon Imprint, for my next book of Christian historical fiction. It’s The Medallion, and it follows the son of the protagonist from my first book, The Bonfires of Beltane. Projected publication date: December 2018.

Here’s the teaser:

Only Ty can save his clan from the druids rising again on his island home. But something—is it God?—calls him to distant Gaul to look for a sister whom everyone knows is dead. He believes she’s alive, and he’s driven to find her. But who then will save his clan?

“The Scepter and Tower” Fantasy Trilogy

The editing/publication process does take time. While my historical novel wends its way through final editing, formatting, getting a cover, etc…, I’m working on my Christian fantasy trilogy. I’ve decided to self-publish “The Scepter and Tower” series. The first two books are written, and I’m seventy pages into the third. When will I release these? I don’t know. Whenever they don’t interfere with my historical fiction release, I suppose.

Am I crazy for wanting to write in two different genres? You tell me. But I love them both.

A Call for Fantasy Readers

If you are an avid reader of fantasy and would like to become a beta-reader for the first fantasy book in the series, The Scepter, please use my contact page and send me a request. I’ll put you on the list. But if you want to do this, I will also ask youalthough it’s not requiredif you could please post a review on Amazon when the first book, The Scepter, is released. Books live or die on the number of positive reviews they receive.

In any event, that’s what’s happening in the life of your author. By the way, lately he’s also been writing books, not adding to his stable of posts.
